    Primary school was established in the year 1936 (The Birth Centenary Year of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna) to meet the educational needs of the poor children in and around Mylapore.

    It has classes from I to V standard. 60 children (44 Boys and 16 Girls) are studying at present in this building.

Sri Ramakrishna Centenary Primary school was established in the year 1936 (The Birth Centenary Year of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna) to meet the educational needs of the poor children in and around Mylapore. It has classes from I to V standard in english medium and Tamil medium. 


C P School Main Building

In 1966-67 a regular two storeyed building was constructed by the Home for the primary school at a cost of Rs.4.5 lakhs with government aid.  More than 380 students were studying in this school in the initial years.

English Medium School - from I to V

Introducing English Medium School: Responding to the peoples request, a transformative step was taken in 2024 with the introduction of an English Medium section, running alongside the existing Tamil Medium. This strategic move quickly bore fruit — the student strength rose to 65, breathing new life into the school

Introduction of LKG & UKG

Starting LKG and UKG: Building on this momentum, the year 2025 saw the addition of LKG and UKG sections, accompanied by the appointment of new teachers.  The strength of the students now stands at 85 and expected to rise in the coming years


Free Morning Breakfast and Noon Meals

Children are provided with free noon meals under the Govt. Noon Meal Scheme. Along with it Home also provides morning breakfast, biscuits and milk in the morning and extra vegetables (poriyal or kootu) in addition to the existing midday meals during lunch ensuring better nourishment to all children.  The school further expanded its care by renovating the kitchen and laying new tiles, 

Vidyadanam

No-cost text books, note books, uniforms, school bags, footwear, colour pencils, crayons, identity cards etc are given to students from the Tamil Nadu Government schemes. Two sets of uniforms to each child is given by the Home.

  • Academic Year 2024 - 2025 Report
    • No-cost text books, notebooks, uniforms, school bags, footwear, colour pencils, crayons, identity cards etc. are given to students from the Tamil Nadu Government schemes. 
    • All the Students were promoted to the higher classes in the Academic Year 2025 – 2026.
    • On 06.08.2024, Swami Ramakrishnanandji Maharaj Jayanthi was celebrated. Our students participated in a Cultural Program, "குருசேவையும் குருஅருளும்"
    • On 15.08.2025, Independence Day was celebrated virtually due to Corona. Students participated in Role Play as Bharathiyar, Jhansi Rani, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Velunachiyar, etc. 
    • On 13.09.2025, Zone – X Health Department provided Deworming tablets for students. The tablets were distributed through the parents with proper instructions.
    • On 26.12.2025, Annai Sarada Devi Jayanthi was celebrated. Smt. S. Rajeswari, Sec. Gr.Asst. teacher delivered a Speech on "பெண்மையைப் போற்றுவோம்" Sloka Recitation and Speeches were given by the students.
    • On 12.01.2025, The National Youth Day was celebrated virtually. Students participated in Fancy Dress, Drawing and Recitation Activities.
    • On 25.01.2025, Swami Vivekananda Jayanthi and on 26.01.2025, Republic Day were celebrated virtually. 
    • On 04.03.2025, Sri Ramakrishnar Jayanthi was celebrated. Students were participated in Recitation, Dance – Cultural Activities. Smt. N. Suriyakala, Sec. Gr. Asst. teacher delivered a Speech on  "குருவருள் "
    • The school conveys its deep sense of Gratitude to all the Donors, Well - wishers and Old students for their valuable contributions.
